Modern? Danish? What is NOT to Love?!

In the 1960s, designers all over the world worked to revolutionize the world's concept of what home design should be. The Scandinavians were no exception, and companies like Dansk and Marimekko produced popular accessories and fabrics while designers worked with master craftspeople to create exquisite home furnishings. This design style would come to be known as Danish Modern, and, much like Cher, it’s back on the diva list this season.

Here are a few ways to get started Danish Modernizing your pad…

Get Some Privacy! Simply adhere this patterned window film from by UK designer Emma Jeffs to any glass surface, and instantly add a double shot of style to your space. Plus, the film will allow you some much needed privacy if you happen to have a window in your powder room.

Center Stage. Your coffee table is the centerpiece of your space, diva, so it’s gotta look GOOD. And this Bo Concept’s coffee table is the perfect mix of aesthetic pleasure and functionality. Two of the panels can be raised, offering the option of higher surface that’s perfect for eating or working in your living room, and there is storage space to hide away any tabletop clutter.

Eye Candy. Your walls deserve some accessorizing too, Divas, and 2 Modern is your one-stop supply house for art pieces that will accentuate your new Danish Modern look. We have a serious crush on the prints from Inhabit.

Whether you want to integrate a few pieces into your home design, or if you’re ready for a full-throttle Scandinavian overhaul – check out the Danish Modern movement… we did! And we’re pretty sure Cher did too.
